Years of Residence in Jurisdiction:

I grew-up in Northern Idaho and later graduated from Coeur d’ Alene High.

Educational Background:

6/89 - Coeur d’ Alene High School (Coeur d’ Alene, Id)

6/92 - Boise State University - Associate of Science/Marketing Mid-Management (+1 year finance) (Boise, Id)

12/98 - Lewis-Clark State College - Bachelors of Science/Business Administration (Coeur d’ Alene, Id)

Community Involvement:

Since moving back to Coeur d’ Alene for the 2nd time in early of 2004 I have been attending various public meetings to listen to the people of Coeur d’ Alene whenever I can. I ran for State Senate in 2006 and 2008. This has made me known among the community and given me a unique perspective.

I am the North Idaho Pickens Plan District Leader (U.S. made energy). A member of the Panhandle Coalition Steering Committee, SD271-School Policy Review Board, and a member of the Panhandle Electric Vehicle Association.

I am concerned for the path of our future, country, society and world. I am tired of those who would put others/community at risk for personal gain. We must accept personal responsibility for the future. I will be creating advisory committees from various parts of the political spectrum to assist me in writing legislation.

Three priority issues and why:

PUBLIC SAFETY - Stronger enforcement and prosecution for sexual offenses and violent crimes (especially those committed against children, elderly and for domestic/dating violence). Enact certain one-strike laws & eliminate “Statute of Limitations” on these crimes. More rehabilitation opportunities for non-offenders to become productive members of society.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE & RECYCLED RESOURCES - Establishing Idaho (new industries) to be at the forefront of supplying and developing resources for the future. Establish alternative energy resources and industries, as well as other recycled resources for economic, environmental, and national stability and security.

JOB AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES – For the Idaho economy to recover, we cannot wait for the national economy to recover. We must start here at home. There are many resources right here in our community that goes unutilized that could provide valuable jobs. Start using more Idaho made products in public and non-public areas within our state. Increase all forms of Idaho exports.

EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES - Fact: higher educational level often equates to a higher quality of life. I do not believe in handouts. However, a hand-up needs to be genuine and equally given to all. If we wish our children to compete effectively in the world of tomorrow, we need to devote more resources to our childrens futures. A proper education is the best offense to break the “Cycle of Poverty”. Reduce state cuts in funding and encourage the State of Idaho’s tax responsibility. We cannot place undue burdens on existing local property taxpayers. - Receiving my education in Idaho, I know we need to improve our educational opportunities in Idaho. We need to give all Idahoans something more to look forward to than living paycheck to paycheck. We need to create education and/or training opportunities to create future self-reliance.

Why? I am very concerned for the future.
