Describe your employment history for the past 10 years including dates:
I worked for the City of Coeur d’Alene for nearly 17 years (1988 – 2004) in the Public Works Department. The majority of my career (13 years) was working for the Wastewater Utility.
In 2004 I took early retirement from the City of Coeur d’Alene and started my own business as an Aflac Insurance Agent. I knew that Aflac was a great place for me. I could help people when they were injured or ill and provide plans for them that would pay cash directly to them, so that they could focus on getting well and not worry so much about financial ruin.
What are your three priority issues and why:
Taxes – I will be diligent in ensuring that the community has the basic services. As a conservative I will be diligent in ensuring that the budget does not reflect fore-gone taxes, or unnecessary spending. I believe it is our obligation that the budget is established in a conservative and accountable manner, maximizing your taxpayer dollars.
Community Connection – I will ensure that we provide transparency within the community. I will ensure that we are fostering partnerships with other agencies and businesses, whether public or private, but especially with the citizens and taxpayers in our city. When issues arise I will listen to the concerns of the citizens.
Planned Growth – I believe the City needs to plan for future growth. To have a vision in place for short and long term goals. I want to make sure that new growth will maintain the small town “charm” that I find so warm and welcoming. I don’t ever want to deal with crisis management for growth.
