We are meeting the demands of the Office through the use of over 450 volunteers including the Sheriff’s Posse, Search and Rescue, Sheriff’s Auxiliary, Citizens on Patrol, Chaplain Corp, volunteer office personnel, and retired peace officers. Been working part-time at First Presbyterian Church since 2004. What are your three priority issues and why: 1) Increase wages for county workforce. We spend the time and effort to train our officers, but yet they are lured away from the county by better pay across the border and this has got to stop. 2) Increase number of patrolman on the force. With an increase in officers, the response time will decrease making the residents of the county feel more secure. 3) Make the department more people friendly. The residents of the county need to feel that they can stop by the office to ask questions, voice their concerns and know that we are listening.
