What are your three priority issues and why:                                     

Salary, Staffing, and Growth

Growing county population with an underpaid and understaffed Sheriff’s office.  We are meeting the demands of the Office through the use of over 450 volunteers including the Sheriff’s Posse, Search and Rescue, Sheriff’s Auxiliary, Citizens on Patrol, Chaplain Corp, volunteer office personnel, and retired peace officers.  Also because of our staffing issues the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office participates in multi-agency specialty teams such as Major Crime Unit, Special Response Unit, Dive Team, and Citizen Academies
